MOHAVE VALLEY - The opening of the El Rio Professional Plaza added a decidedly upscale storefront and office space opportunity in Mohave Valley.
The three buildings in the first phase of Hoover Industries' development are completed and offer 35,000 square feet of office and storefront space.
“We want to do some retail frontage and more professional office space in the back,” Hoover commercial projects/sales and leasing manager Kevin Burr said. “In the El Rio Professional Plaza's three buildings we can take (tenants) up to 10,000 square feet.
“We'd like to lure some of the medical profession into the park.”
Burr, who moved here from Reno, Nev., has experience marketing retail and office space.
“In Reno I did some developing. We built these little 3,500 square foot buildings and they sold great,” Burr said. “I thought maybe the same type of product would sell well here.”
The lure of the desert and Hoover's product offerings helped persuade Burr to make the move to Mohave Valley.
“I got fed up with cold winters,” Burr said.
Now that the Plaza is finished and space is being leased, Burr is looking ahead to Stage 2 of the project and moving on to work on the Mohave Business Park and El Rio Mercado and Power Suite.
“The business park is for manufacturing,” We'd like to do spec (speculation) buildings of 100,000 or 200,000 square feet using concrete tilt-up construction.”
Right now filling the Professional Plaza with tenants is also a key priority, but Aztech Communications, the El Rio Sales Office, First Magnus Financial Corporation, 1st National Bank of Arizona, Hoover Land Investments, LandAmerica Transnation Title and Escrow, Michael Alan Furnishings, Orseeni House Coffee & Tea, Sevenstar Insurance and Springberg McAndrew Financial Services are already moved in or committed to space.
“I feel really good about the area,” Burr said. “I feel there is really a lot of growth potential.” |
