Spreading across 11 acres of desert, Lake Havasu RV and Boat Storage is bringing 700 storage units to Lake Havasu City. The facility has 211,000 square feet of rentable space.
The units, labeled as Lake Havasu City's first climate controlled facility, are located in a two-story concrete building at 1808 Victoria Farms Road, one mile south of the airport and one block east of Highway 95 off of Chenoweth Road.
Containing more than 700 storage spaces, the owner is ready for the almost three-year project to be finalized.
Michael Bowen, owner of Eagle Storage and Development, said the project has been a long process. “I started the project almost three years ago now and can't wait to finish the details.”
When complete, the building will be titled as Lake Havasu RV & Boat Storage. The new storage unit has amenities to meet a variety of needs. Some of the details include:
€ Concrete tilt-wall construction
€ Wide concrete driveways
€ Drive through units with oversized electric doors
€ Storage unit sizes from 5x5 to 15x60
€ Key code access for 24 hours a day entry
€ Biometric access (finger print scan)
€ Video surveillance system
€ His and her restrooms with showers, accessible 24 hours a day
€ Wash bay
€ Dump station
€ On-site resident managers
€ Facility office and store open seven days a week from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
€ Door alarms and fire sprinklers
€ Five-amp AC outlet to provide power for keeping batteries charged
€ Climate controlled facility with 10 air conditioning units to maintain an approximate 76-degree temperature
€ Moving truck available to renters at no charge and can be used for renting purposes around the community
According to Bowen, there will be 385 climate-controlled mini storages ranging from 5x5 to 10x5, 272 RV and boat units with 14-foot high doors and 75 regular mini storage units ranging from 5x5 to 14x20 in size. According to their Web site, the management can create four custom drive-through 100-foot spaces as well.
Ed Heil, who will be living on-site with his wife and is titled as the operations and security manager for the operation, said construction is moving along at a good rate. “We anticipate on opening anywhere between 90 and 120 days,” he said. “The reservation list has more than 200 names on it, and have been taking reservations by the Web site for the past seven months. Things are really moving along.”
According to Bowen, the structure is one of a kind. “It's not the typical storage facility,” he said. “The exterior artwork will be phenomenal and in the future we hope to include local artists work at our location. It's a country-club type of environment.”
