American Woodmark in Kingman 20 years

Kingman Daily Miner

KINGMAN - The American Woodmark's Kingman manufacturing facility celebrates their 20th anniversary in March. American Woodmark, a leading supplier of cabinetry to the new home construction and remodeling industries, commemorated this milestone with a variety of event to celebrate its employees and its continued partnership with the Kingman community.

“American Woodmark is proud to celebrate 20 years of success in Kingman,” said Mark Seals, Kingman plant manager. “Through the hard work and dedication of our employees and the support of the community, we continue to grow and look forward to the next 20 years of excellence.”

According to plant history, American Woodmark is one of the three largest manufacturers of kitchen and bath cabinets in the United States and the Kingman plant is one of the company's 15 manufacturing facilities nationwide.

“American Woodmark's Kingman plant is an assembly and finishing operation. The Kingman facility receives cabinet components from Kentucky and West Virginia and then assembles and finishes these components before shipping the completed project throughout the western United States,” the history statement said.

The plant opened its doors in Kingman in 1987. Over the years, it has grown and currently employees approximately 560 people. In 2002, the facility grew from 147,000 square feet to 328,000 square feet, more than doubling in size.

In addition to supplying a source of employment for many local residents, American Woodmark also takes pride in participating in community endeavors. The American Woodmark Foundation, an employee led and run corporate giving program, has had a steady presence in Kingman since 1995. During the last 12 years, the foundation has donated more than $100,000 to community organizations in Kingman that implement and support education, domestic violence prevention and safety and housing programs.

As an extension of that community involvement, American Woodmark announced the donation of two kitchens to Housing America Corporation as part of their anniversary celebration.

Housing America, a private, non-profit corporation dedicated to improving living standards by providing low- and moderate-income families assistance in achieving housing in Yuma and Mohave counties.

“The two dedicated kitchens mark two decades of excellence and growth at the Kingman plant,” Seals said. “We are proud to continue American Woodmark's longstanding commitment to the Kingman community and look forward to another 20 years of success.”
